Vegas Baby!

it's been a while since I updated the blog, so figured now was a good time to show and tell what we've been up to lately. The Wichers and Melissa's parents just recently returned from a trip to Las Vegas to visit Chad's parents. We packed a lot into the trip besides visiting with Chad's family.

Here is a quick summary of a few of the many things we did:

• A visit to the west rim of the Grand Canyon, that included getting to walk out onto the glass floored skywalk that hangs out over the rim of the canyon
• A trip to Zion National Park and the town of St. George, Utah where we saw amazing views, a huge group of mountain goats, as well as a few wild deer.
  
• A visit to Hoover Dam
• An evening at the Enchanted Forest, a Christmas themed amusement park fundraiser with all kinds of Christmas decorations, rides, and games for Finley to enjoy including a couple trips on the miniature train that runs through the park.
  
• A visit to the Ethel M chocolate factory cactus garden that is completely lit up for Christmas where we stocked up on chocolate and M & M merchandise.
  

We had a wonderful visit and Finley enjoyed spending time with both sets of grandparents, as well as seeing all the amazing sites in and around Las Vegas. Here are a few photos from the trip, enjoy!

Cannon Beach Trip

This past week the Wichers took a trip to Cannon Beach to get away and celebrate Chad's birthday. We rented a suite with Melissa's parents and carpooled down in their van to enjoy our week at the beach. The weather was great and we had a nice time reading, relaxing, swimming, playing on the beach, and dining in town. We also made a few trips to Bruce's Candy Kitchen for salt water taffy. It was a nice way to cap off the summer. Enjoy the photos!

Summer 2011

We've had a few weeks of great weather and have been taking advantage of it as much as we can. Chad's Mom (Grandma Barb) was up for a visit to attend Chad's cousin Ian's wedding, so Finley and her Grandma had plenty of opportunity to spend time together. Grandma Barb's visit was a huge hit and Finley still keeps going into the spare bedroom to see if Grandma is ready to wake up and play with her.

Grandma also got got a big surprise when we took her to breakfast in Seattle, and there waiting at the table for her were Chad's sister Jennifer, Jennifer's boyfriend Duane, and 2 of her three grandsons. They had all driven up from Vancouver to help surprise Grandma. Here are some photos from the trip and other events this summer.
